Whether as an adult or child/adolescent, or as part if a couple or family, we all encounter a variety of challenges and stressors as we or those around us change and develop. Most of the time, we are able to successfully adapt and evolve. However, there are times when these changes for many, become too frequent, too big, or too serious to work through on our own. It is in these moments and many others that consulting with a professional trained in working with individuals or families along the lifespan may be beneficial and supportive.
As a Registered Psychologist, I specialize in working with children, youth and their families in the Edmonton and surrounding area. I have been working as a psychologist for over 15 years in a variety of settings including mental health clinics, employee and family assistance providers, non-profit organizations and in private practice. I have clinical experience working with individuals along the lifespan. In my early years of practice, I was fortunate to be trained and mentored by leading early childhood psychiatrists in Saskatoon and Edmonton to provide mental health assessment, consultation and treatment to infants and preschoolers and their families. Many of the young children I work with present with challenges with sleep, regulation, toileting, anxiety, feeding issues, aggression, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Parents also express concerns with parenting and attachment concerns. In addition to my work in early childhood, I also offer assessment, consultation and therapy to school age children, teens, and adults experiencing a wide range of social, emotional, behavioural and/or developmental concerns and challenges. Often, the clients that I see in my practice are struggling with a wide range of challenges at home, school challenges for individuals. While decreasing triggers in environments, I work collaboratively with children and adults to identify and build on their strengths and tools to help them grow and succeed.
